Global Arts Prize (GAP) – Global Leaders Institute
Offered By - Global Leaders Institute
About the Program
The Global Arts Prize (GAP) is an international recognition and funding initiative by the Global Leaders Institute designed to support artists and creative ventures driving innovation in the cultural and creative industries.
The program focuses on identifying individuals and initiatives that are redefining the role of arts in modern society through new ideas, formats, or impact-driven work. Unlike traditional startup accelerators or grants, GAP is positioned as a global recognition prize that rewards cultural innovation rather than early-stage business building.
Each year, the prize distributes a total of $60,000 USD across two distinct awards, recognizing different types of contributions within the creative ecosystem :
- The BlueSky Award, which supports forward-looking, innovative creative initiatives
- The Legacy Award, which recognizes initiatives connected to the Global Leaders Institute ecosystem
The program is open globally and does not impose restrictions on geography, scale, or artistic domain, making it highly inclusive for creators across disciplines such as visual arts, music, design, film, fashion, and cultural ventures.
A unique aspect of GAP is its nomination-based structure. Instead of direct applications, candidates are nominated by individuals, which shifts the selection dynamic toward recognition of demonstrated impact rather than self-submitted proposals. The process also includes public voting and jury evaluation, combining community validation with expert assessment.
This program is best suited for:
- Established artists or creative ventures
- Cultural innovators with demonstrated impact
- Projects already contributing to the evolution of arts and culture
It is not designed for idea-stage founders or early-stage startups without proven work.
