TARANG 1.0 – Technology Acceleration and Research Alliance for Next Gen Growth
Offered By - IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation IIT Indore
About the Program
TARANG 1.0 is designed for startups, innovators, researchers, entrepreneurs, MSMEs and healthcare professionals working on healthcare technologies that are ready to move toward validation, commercialization and market adoption. The programme is run by IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation, IIT Indore, and operates through two application pathways: Challenge-Based Innovation and Technology Commercialization.
Under the Challenge-Based Innovation pathway, participants develop innovative solutions for validated healthcare problem statements. The Technology Commercialization pathway is intended for commercialization of innovative technologies available through the TARANG ecosystem. Applicants can explore the relevant challenges or technologies, submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), and showcase their innovation or express commercialization interest.
The programme focuses on moving healthcare technologies beyond development toward clinical validation, technology transfer, industry adoption, market access and commercialization. Its stated offerings include funding and strategic investment opportunities, clinical pilot support, expert mentorship, technology-transfer and IP support, and connections with industry, healthcare providers, investors and government agencies.
TARANG is particularly relevant at the stage where a healthcare innovation needs more than product development alone—such as validation, pilot deployment, commercialization support or access to industry and market stakeholders. The programme also lists TRL 6+ technologies in the technology-commercialization context.
From a founder’s perspective, TARANG 1.0 is worth prioritizing if your healthcare technology has reached a stage where validation, commercialization or market adoption is the immediate objective. It is especially aligned with applicants who can clearly connect their technology to a healthcare challenge or an available commercialization pathway.
